Bruce Valentine
Managing Director, Oxford, UK
Global Managing Director of OpTek systems, Bruce has a MBA from Cranfield University and has worked in international component design and system manufacturing since 1989. He has a background in RF, Microwave and Fiber Optics, and has worked on major regional and global defence, space and industrial programs during his career. Since joining in November 2021, Bruce is responsible for OpTek’s activities and facilities in Massachusetts, South Carolina, Donguan and the UK.
Tsung Lung Lu
General Manager, Dongguan, China
Mr. Lu oversees OpTek’s operations in Asia Pacific from the facility in Dongguan, China, both supporting OpTek’s installed base of >200 machines in these territories and manufacturing on-site millions of fiber sensors per year. With over 30-years’ experience managing teams in companies such as Lucent, he is an acknowledged industry expert in optical fiber and cable also brings unparalleled knowledge of optical fiber applications in particular the booming datacoms area. Lu believes passion is most important in his work. For the need to communicate with colleagues in UK late in the night, this two-shift job keeps him busy/happy all the time. Dog walking has become his stress relief and physical exercise.
Duane Dinkel
President, South Carolina, USA
Duane manages OpTek’s Greenville, South Carolina facility. From a Mechanical Engineering and Materials background, Duane has occupied senior roles in companies large and small, including 3M and AFL. He is an acknowledged expert in optical fibers, and converting fiber into valuable end-product for medical, military, energy and datacoms customers. Duane has carefully located his family in a spot that allows year-round access to the golf course.
Andy Webb
Sales Director, Micromachining Solutions, Massachusetts, USA
Andy leads OpTek’s micro-machining solutions, including machine sales, service, and maintenance programs. He has developed micromachining solutions for some of the world’s most advanced technology companies and he thrives on customers’ impossible needs, outside work, he enjoys and makes full use of the distinct seasons that the New England climate serves up.
Henry Lu
Unit Manager, Dongguan, China
Henry oversees OpTek Asia-Pacific’s micromachining business, covering a range of industries from electronics to medical devices. He is a frequent speaker at pharmaceutical packaging workshops. Prior to joining OpTek, Henry has worked around the globe, from Johnson & Johnson in the UK to SC Johnson & Son in Taiwan. Henry graduated from Aston University, UK, and enjoys tennis recreationally.
Barbara Kremenliev
Engineering Manager, South Carolina, USA
With a history on optical and laser development and applications, Barb is an experienced Program Manager with a record of successfully delivering multi-million-dollar projects to demanding clients in both industrial and defense industries. Barb still dreams of designing the winning boat for the US America’s Cup team.
Henry Cumberlidge
Engineering Projects Manager, Oxford, UK
With a wide experience of both the mechanical, electrical and software aspects, Henry joined OpTek in 2015 and oversees all engineering projects within OpTek. Henry’s broad outside interests have included running his own brewing company.
Graham Rutterford
Laser Processing Manager, Oxford, UK
Graham has 25 years of experience developing world class laser processing and micromachining solutions and runs a successful team, developing next generation process solutions and stable production techniques for volume manufacture. With a passion for “unusual” automobiles, he commutes to work in his self-engineered electric conversion of a traditional VW Beetle.
Sean Kelly
Production and QA Manager, South Carolina, USA
Sean has been with OpTek since its inception in the USA, having previously worked with OpTek as a customer for many years previous to that. He is the established expert on OpTek’s laser processing of optical fibers, and has responsibility for the day-to-day operations in Greenville as well as QA.
Mike O'Key
Fiber Processing Manager, Oxford, UK
Starting his work on laser development and applications in 1988, Mike was one of the first people to apply laser processing to the manufacturing of optical fiber components. With OpTek from the beginning Mike co-developed OpTek’s patented LaserCleave™ technology, and has continued to build OpTek’s IP portfolio through his work on laser processing of fiber optics. At home, Mike is introducing his twin daughters to the delights of vinyl records.
Chris Randon
Head of Business Development, Oxford, UK
Chris has spent 20 years working in the fiber and optical component industry, including time at Fujitsu Quantum Devices. Since 2014 he has also worked in micromachining, tailoring solutions to meet customer requirements. Strangely, Chris likes nothing better than to be in a tight spot in some deep dark cave.
