Welcome to the new look OpTek Systems
When OpTek Systems joined the Humanetics Group in 2019 our primary aim was to enhance our ability to support customers worldwide, and thereby to accelerate our growth into new markets, new sectors and new clients. I am glad to say we have.
Since then we have expanded all of our operational facilities in the US, Europe and Asia. We extended our facility in Greenville, South Carolina by adding 2,000 sq ft of additional fiber-processing and machine commissioning space. Further up the east coast of the U.S. OpTek has just opened a new facility co-located with another Humanetics Group company, HITEC Sensors in Chelmsford, MA. Located close to the near Boston’s tech hub and MIT, OpTek now offers a convenient location in the Northeast US for supporting precision laser processing – so if you are in the area, please do come to visit us.
In Dongguan, China, we added 2,000 sq ft to our processing and assembly area to meet new orders for millions of fiber-optic sensors for the medical area.
In the UK, OpTek added a new 4,000 sq ft building to its Abingdon, Oxford facility, increasing the space available for machine assembly to meet increased demand worldwide. In 2021 we will move into a brand new building, the "OpTek Solution Center" that will see all our Oxford operations under one roof, in a purpose designed building.
Our growth has not just been about expanding our operations to meet the needs of our customers. You will also see from our new web site, that we have refreshed our brand identity. We are now visibly a part of the Humanetics Group of companies. The Humanetics Group is a global engineering group that includes: Humanetics, the global leaders in safety technology and crash test dummies; HITEC Sensors, who develop custom sensors used in mission critical environments like the aerospace, medical, defence, automotive and energy sectors; and Fibercore, a niche leader in fiber optic manufacturing, who are based out of Southampton, UK, with facilities in the US and China as well.
The Humanetics Group and the expertise of our sister companies provides OpTek with additional engineering capabilities, geographic support and sector knowledge. As we expand our business in the telecoms/datacoms, medical, oil & gas, energy and military sectors, we will be able to leverage that expertise.
I am proud of the incredible work of our team to build OpTek Systems into a global engineering business. We now work with some of the most impressive customers in the world. Our precision engineering helps them solve important and complex manufacturing problems. I look forward to continuing this growth journey with the new look OpTek and our Humanetics Group companies.
